Some considerations…

Will the number of cloud-based applications explode in 2010? Of course. Will they all deliver robust APIs for exchanging data with other apps and clouds? Probably not… Will these APIs change rapidly? You bet! Will it cost everyone a fortune to build and maintain integrations? Certainly – unless they adopt really robust integration solutions that scale for both variety and change.
